BARACK OBAMA’S VISIT TO SPAIN IN
LAS MAÑANAS DE LA 1
Madrid, July 2016.-
In light of repercussions of the recent visit by Obama to our country, Antonio Camuñas was also invited to Las Mañanas de Televisión Española, where he had the chance to comment at length on some of the most salient aspects of President Obama’s visit to Spain.
As well as highlighting some of the main aspects of the visit, Antonio Camuñas was asked about the upcoming presidential election, not ruling out a possible victory of Donald Trump “given that, despite this figure’s histrionic characteristics, he has managed to connect with the concerns of many Americans who feel that their future is under threat and who have lost faith in the political classes”.
Regarding Hillary Clinton he commented that she was the better prepared politician and the surest bet, although he also remarked on the mistrust that the former First Lady and former senator awakens even among her own voters.
Asked to define Obama’s presidency, Antonio Camuñas did not hesitate in qualifying it as “disappointing, given the enormous expectation kindled by his arrival”. Nevertheless, he stated he had been a very honourable president, who has managed to safeguard the presidency from any scandal during his eight years of office.
