ORDINARY GENERAL MEETING OF
‘EL ESPAÑOL’

El Español has gained over six million single users in less than one year 


Madrid, June 2016.-

El Español held its first Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on Saturday 25 June, in which it confirmed that it is achieving the goals it set at the start of the project and has now reached six million single users.  

As the director of the newspaper, Pedro J. Ramírez, explained, El Español is meeting its strategic plan in both income and expenses. Currently, almost 15% of income stems from over 12000 subscriptions and, during its first year, the newspaper is expected to reach a turnover of 6 million euros, with a mixed model combining subscriptions and advertising revenues.

Over 80% of the shareholders of the newspaper were represented at the meeting last Saturday.

In his speech, Pedro J. Ramírez recalled the launch of El Estilo de EL ESPAÑOL, the first portal covering this area (fashion, gastronomy, beauty…) in an exclusively digital newspaper. Moreover, he announced the coming launch of a motor supplement.
